The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) can confirm that Matthew Maguire was handed over to the Nigerian government officials at a secret rendezvous and is currently in the city of Port Harcourt in Rivers state.
Earlier disruptions to this event was caused by plans of the JTF to ambush the delivery party and take the glory for his "release" We wish our special envoy and advocate for change all the best as he re-unites with his family to share his experience and ours. It was his fate that crossed our paths.
