What game is Governor Obi up to next?

June 27, 2009

I feel for Anambra State Governor Peter Obi who now preoccupies himself trying to explain away his way out of the N250million. At recently time, he engaged the Guild of Editors who had their meeting at the Awka two weeks ago; he was also in a church trying to explain to the congregations that no kobo of Anambra State was missing; he has expressed through the media that he is the highest tax payer in Anambra State. Should all the above justify his role in the N250million stealing?

Governor Peter Obi stated in the media that the cash was a payment disbursed to a contractor for a genuine government contract. Good talk. But let him explain when and how government started the habit of paying cash to contractors, and at weekends. The ‘contractor’ has been identified to be his brother-in-law. The media had it that the cash has been recovered and returned to the coffer of the State government.

One thing is sure; no matter how hard he tries to explain or where he seeks support from, the act was committed and he agreed being aware of that. What other explanation do one need from the governor; he was only unlucky this time around, hence this particular incident was caught in the web. Let him just stop further complications of this matter.
