The State Security Service (SSS) of the North

August 4, 2009

Dear Editor: I am writing to draw your attention to the list of State Security Service (SSS) personnel in strategic positions around Nigeria and what is becoming a policy of “Northernization” of the SSS by the current Yar’adua regime. Compatriots, kindly note that I am making this contribution to enhance national cohesion and not to ignite or promote an ethnic agenda. It is obvious that I am a Yoruba, but this intervention should provoke other Nigerians within the service who feel shortchanged to speak out as well.

Katsina State takes over:   A.  Katsina state                                                    Place of Service 1. M.D Abubakar Lagos state 2. Mohammed Nasir       FCT 3. Lili Ekiti 4. Bello Chalanchi Kwara 5. Tilde Aso Rock (CSO to President) 6. Dodo  (2ic) Aso Rock 7. Ibrahim Audu Kaduna 8. Musa Alli Niger
National Headquarters Geo political zone of origin  1. A.A Gadzama-DG SSS NORTH 2. ABBOH-Director of Training NOTH 3. Mohammed Bichi, Director of Operations NORTH 4. A, K Salami, Director of Security Enforcement. NORTH 5. B. John, Director of Economic Intel.       SOUTH  6. SEIYEFA, Director of Intelligence SOUTH SOUTH 7. Odugbemi, Director of Inspectorate SOUTH WEST 8. AKOMA, Director of Admin and Fin. SOUTH EAST 9. AZODO, Director of Technical SOUTH EAST   NB: Aside from the Nine Personnel listed above, Katsina State alone has about 9 Assistant Director of Security at the National Headquarters of SSS., in Abuja, also in variious sensitive postings in the country, about 22 Assistant Directors ranging from Admin and Logistics (AL), Operations and Intelligence (O.I) and Security enforcement are from Katsina State.     OTHERS 1. B.M Ileyasu,  NORTHERNER Director, Bauchi 2. B.T BAKORI,  NORTHERNER Director, Kano 3. A.KAMBA. NORTHERNER Director, Borno 4. I.A Isyaku NORTHERNER Asst Director,Ondo 5. B. Abubakar NORTHERNER Asst Director, Osun 6. A.I Gadji NORTHERNER Asst Director, National Ass 7. Haske        NORTHERNER Director ,National Security Agency   Little wonder why their are crisis in the Northern State, some of these people are directly or indirectly compromised, they do not provide any Intelligence.   Ekiti Scenario   Out of the total personnel of 198, in Ekiti State 197 was transfered out of the state. 92 IN THE FIRST BATCH and 105 IN THE SECOND BATCH. To make matter worse, for example, a staff that was transferred to Bornu State, and Taraba State, a location more than 1200km was paid a paltry sum of one thousand five hundred Naira only as transport allowance, while Parking Allowance which normally comes with such transfer was NOT paid at all, even till date. Out of these personnel transfered are cooks, Drivers, Gardners, Cleaners .Aside the fact that their salaries are not even up to twenty thousand Naira, these are auxilliary staff who are ordinarily not expected to be transfered. To say that this is an act of wickedness is an Understatement.   The followings are the questions left to be answered by the SSS Authority:   1. Given the fact that sss work requires continuity, who will put these new staff through in their work since every  agent in the state has been transferred, 2. Given the fact that SSS job is all about Intelligence gathering,How will the new agents transferred to the State acquire information when they cannot even speak the language. 3. Why is it that the only staff not transferred or transferred but was recalled to the state is the CSO to the Governor., 4. Why is it that the said staff above is the same person alledged to have shot an AC Party fateful, in the Rerun of the Governorship election in the leg, which later resulted in the amputation of the victims leg. 5. Why is it that it’s the same person above, Steve Ojelade that led thugs to Fajuyi Park to molest Okada Riders. 6. Is it wrong to say that the so-called best SSS man who defied the major transfer in the state is the Hatchet man of PDP.   Can the following redeployment be a mistake?   1.SEGUN Agbaje. YOR. Fmr Director of Inspectorate, Hqtrs Training Sch, Lagos 2. Tosin Ajayi YOR, Fmr Director Rivers state, now Asst Director Ops Kaduna 3.Yomi Samba YOR, Fmr Director, Ondo State, now Lecturer, Kaduna Training school 4. Ikumapayi Yoruba, Fmr Director Plateau State, now, Commandant, Bauchi Trining School 5.Sonaike Yoruba, Fmr Director, Enugu, now, Lecturer, Training School, Lagos 6. Adenle. Yoruba, Fmr Director, Ebonyi State, now,Lecturer, Abuja Training school. 7. S.o Soares. Yoruba, Fmr Assistant Director, Plateau State, now Lecturer, Training School, Kaduna. 8. Z.M.E Sule Yoruba. Fmr National Director, now Coordinator, Bauchi Training School. (Number 4 in the Federation, now funningly junior to Ikumapayi in the same school. Both from Kogi State, is this a mistake or a deliberate attempt to create discord or animosity among them and the Yoruba race in general.
