A federal court of appeals sitting in Lagos has dismissed the bail application brought on appeal before it by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) jailbird, Olabode George, asking to be granted bail on health grounds from a 2-year prison sentence.
But the lead judge in ruling delivered today upheld the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) lawyers pleadings that George remains physically and mentally fit to serve out his prison term. The application was dismissed on the grounds that there were no compelling medical reasons to release him from prison.
