In a light mood: Why Ibori was Discharged and acquitted

December 19, 2009
In a light mood: As Pope John Paul II was dying; he sent for James Ibori and Peter Odili to come to the Vatican. When they arrived, they were ushered to his bedroom. As they entered, the clergyman held out his hands and motioned them to sit on each side of the bed. The Pope grasped their hands, sighed contentedly, smiled and stared at the ceiling. For a time,no one said anything. Both Ibori and Odili were touched and flattered that the old Pope would ask them to be with him during his final moment. They were also puzzled because the Pope never gave any indication that he liked either one of them. Finally, Ibori asked, "Fader, wettin make you ask d two of us to come here?" The old Pope mustered up some strength and said weakly, "Jesus died between two thieves...I will like to die, just like him. __________________________________________________________ On a serious note: Our Prisons are filled with petty thieves while our palaces starting with Aso Rock villa are filled with wholesale thieves. Yar'adua's sickness is a blessing to this case. Even though they had all agreed it should go this way, the President later thought it would be an great embarassment for his govt based on the available evidences and that stalled the judgement till now. Let's see what the appeal court and the supreme court will do regarding the case and the mountain of evidences the EFCC has. One thing that is certain is we can not mock God neither can we bribe HIM. They may escape man's judgement but what of God's. ... Even with man, their day of reckoning is nigh. Evil can not suppress good for ever! God Bless Nigeria! Nigeria Go better! Rufus Kayode Oteniya
