The art of public speaking is the creativity that one can learn either as a growing child or can be mastered in the progression of life’s ladder. Some people are gifted with oratory. If possessed by a person, he/she maybe become a motivational speaker, an eloquent speaker, etc. Barack Obama is one of such people who speak with great oral and bodily comportment and eloquence.
Listening to Obama speak, one will see a man who has a gift of speech. However, the art of ‘SEE WHITE, CALL IT BLACK’ in the public sphere is not as same as the gift of the garb; this art is what we refer to as blatant lie. When mastered by those who have the ears of the world, the result is barefaced deceit, which a man advanced in age must not engage in.
If our memory serves us right, we will remember a certain Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf, former Information Minister under Saddam Hussein, who was saddled with the great task of pleasing Saddam by telling the most stupid lies that fetched him "Stupidest Person in the World" at the first annual "World Stupidity Awards", held in Canada.
It will be recalled that in the days leading up to the fall of Baghdad into the hands of the American forces, this man nicknamed Baghdad Bob was virtually everywhere telling his country and the world blatant lies. He was nick-named Comical Ali by western media because of the comic relief he offered by misinforming the Iraqis. The irony was that these were the same people that he should have been giving correct information and good advice to in the dangerous war times; rather he allowed himself to be used and ridiculed. It is no surprise that this art bookmarked him in the inglorious world of Stupidity.
Nigeria being a country of copycats, has just copied from Iraq (what a place to copy from) when we have the likes of Mr. Robert Gibbs (White House Spokesman) that we can emulate. Our man didn’t think it will be wise to copy this gentleman. As I wander in thoughts I remember that our President didn’t copy the Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz either who went to the US for medical treatment. Instead, he embarked on a CIA/FBI/MI5/KGB put together kind of journey to Saudi Arabia (I wonder if there is a plan to sell off Nigeria to the Middle East).
Now we have invented our own Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf in the person of the Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Alhaji Abdullah Aminchi. Like Al-Sahaf, Aminchi has earned the nickname "Arabian Bob", for peddling what are clearly lies. He is feeding lies in quantum to Nigerians whose plight he does not care about just like his Iraqi friend. In the last three weeks since our ailing Mr. Yar’adua embarked on his mafia-style medical journey to Saudi Arabia, a place where his then deputy pre-2007 is so strategically stationed in anticipation of a time like this, Arabian Bob became an overnight celebrity. I may not be wrong to say Nigerians beside Katsina State people never heard of the name Abdullah Aminchi before, well until he took over the job of tale-telling for our sick Presido.
He has constantly been speaking on the health condition of Mr. Yar’adua. Arabian Bob does not waste time to address any media station (foreign). When he is not telling the world how Mr. Yar'adua is relaxing watching football on TV, he is telling us how he is very healthy and chatting away with his doctors. The constant media profile of now christened Comical Minchi is causing so much embarrassment to Nigerians and the World.
Discussing yesterday at the on-going Climate Change Conference with a friend who follows the Nigerian political macabre with keen interest as though he had a stake in it, I was asked if the Nigerian President could be watching Football on TV, chatting away as claimed by Comical Minchi, why then has it not touched his heart to address Nigerians via a video link to calm the nation down, or does it not bother him that his country is fast becoming a joke? I waved it with a sigh, because I didn’t think he should be telling me things about my country in such a way.. However something happened after a careful review of the information I had read about the state of Mr. Yar'adua’s health. Something flashed across my mind that Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf of Iraq has resurfaced in Nigeria.
If recent news about the current state of Mr Yar'adua is true, as reported in the media by the government that is ran by TELECRACY, where Mr Goodluck is calling Mr. Yar’adua, or Mr Aondoakaa calling Comical Minchi, or whereby Mrs. Yar'adua calling Mrs Akunyili, and so many others calling themselves in this new type of government, we can comfortably say Comical Minchi is lying to his country people.
Before we join other unfortunate nations in the stupid list, please could someone tell Mr. Abdullah Aminchi AKA Comical Minchi to Just SHUT THE F*** UP.
