Nigeria-The zero hour

December 30, 2009

Beloved fellow Nigerians, it is time for us to gather at this appointed hour. On the eleventh day of January, 2010 and on the eleventh hour, Nigerians at home and in diaspora are enjoined to wear black clothes, carry black handkerchief, and match on Nigerian institutions starting from Aso Rock in Abuja, House of Senate and Representatives, Governor houses in all the states and state House of Assemblies and take back what belongs to the people.

We also enjoined fellow compatriots and friends in diaspora to legitimately mobilise and match on Nigerian High Commissions and Embassies across the world in solidarity. Nigeria is a failed State. When the countdown to the end of this year 2009 AD commence, Nigerians at home and in diaspora, every man and woman, husband, wives and children, babies, adolescents, teenagers, youths and adults are enjoined to take a deep breath, eyes wide shut and partake in the virtual ceremony of lowering the demise of our beloved nation into abyss.

Unfortunately, as we have found no Undertaker to conduct a befitting burial of Nigeria, every worthy citizen and friends of Nigeria are hereby called upon to present a wreath colored in black in protest against the brood of vipers that sucked the blood dry out of our beloved nation. Since the despot went AWOL from Aso Rock, our nation sunk into a new depth of unimaginable proportion. As a result, a group of 53 eminent Nigerians called on the renegade President to resign. Many intelligentsias, ordinary folks, groups and past leaders who are concerned about a brewing constitutional crisis have also joined the chorus begging Mr Umaru YarAdua to resign or temporarily handover power to the Vice President. It is time we face facts and be truthful to ourselves. Asking a sick man who we all suspect is lying prostrate in coma to append his signature to some resignation document is somewhat disingenuous.

The people ordinary Nigerians look up to expect and deserve better. Incidences of the past few weeks have served to confirm the fear of Nigerians and observers of our dear nation. The impotence of men and women in our sacred legislative chambers who failed to step up to defend our constitution in crisis and the corruptible elements in robe who have denigrated the judiciary in our country have killed any hope left in the people and today, democracy is dead and buried in the hearts and minds of the people within the context of current democratic dispensation. This is the country that told the story of Okonkwo to the world; ironically, things have fallen apart for us.

This is the country where the sun rise and set. This is the land of giant elephants where men bear their torso with pride and mount on eagles’ wings. This is the country of three wizards with legs that form a tripod. This is our beloved Nigeria that now lies prostrate, rudderless and in distraught. If I were to be a Roman orator, I would leak every drip of honey in the land with my tongue so that I may rouse your guts up to this long overdue revolution. I am not a politician, so I am not Machiavellian. Nevertheless, I trust that you will obey this call because we are all sickened, all disgusted, all appalled and horrified by the diabolical tendencies of a few people amongst us.

I am not deluded as I know the implications of this call. I know the Cabal is desperate and the dangers of situations such as this. However this is a movement in history, for the sake of our posterity. Surely, we can find a Nelson amongst us. We are the same people that stood firm like the Iroko in support of the Zulus to rid Africa of apartheid. Compatriots, Nigeria is down but not out on the count. We will confront and rip out the demons within us. On the eleventh of January, 2010 and on the eleventh hour, the Cabal must fall. We must take destiny into our hands. Let every man find the strength to respond to this call. We must not stand in our own shadow and wonder why it is dark around us. It is time we enter into our destiny. We entreat you to call on your friends, families, comrades and all acquaintances to encourage them to come out and join us arms in arms. Let us be united in purpose and let the world know that we want our country back. Nigerians, we can do this. We seek no martyr, but with one accord, let us take back what belongs to us. Let the countdown commence and on the hour come forth for God and for country. God bless you all and may God bless Nigeria.
