Who is afraid of 3d scanner and America: the poor and obedient Nigerians or their rulers ?

January 5, 2010

I have noticed some traits in a typical Nigerian, a bad policy that does not affect him negatively as is a good policy and to hell with whomever it affects. A typical Nigerian gets angry easily when faced with the truth, facts and figures. That is the traits of our rulers, especially Obasanjo. Nigerians abhor the truth but celebrate deceit. This has been the way Nigerians both at home and in diaspora live their daily lives.

I know this may not go down well with 99.99% of Nigerians.

Majority of Nigerians both at home and in diaspora that have been spitting brickstones and fire, villifying the parents of the young Umar Farouk for negligence in the proper upbringing of his son are all psycophants. Those in the corridors of power in Abuja are talking to save face and protect their investments all the world should America decides to come up with  harder sanctions on Nigerian. Those of us in diaspora are condemning Umar Farouk’s actions  as if  we are saints and have not called for the extermination of the those in the corridor of power in Nigeria before.
Majority of Nigerians that have been calling for the J.J Rawlings-type treatment on our home-based terrorist rulers would have been the first to condemn little Umar Farouk and call him Satan-sent if he had directed his hanger, rage, compassion for his religion, compassion for the almajiris (thats the power that be have been using to terrorise the masses of the people) on the terroristic rulers in Nigeria. This reminds me of condemnation Nigerians hurled on J.J.Rawlings in 1979. Today that Ghana is towing the path of greatness, Nigerians find abode, refuge and means of livelihood in Ghana. J.J Rawlings is now messiah of Ghana in the eyes of Nigerians. When Major Nzeogu rolled out  tanks  to wipe out the troublers of Nigeria, people jubilated, they shouted halleluyah, when the reactionary forces overthrew the progressives, the same people who had been shouting Halleluyah were the first to shout Cruxify him !! What a country !!!

I dont know why a genuine and honest Nigerian living a honest life should be afraid of whatever stand America takes on Nigeria. War is going on in Afganistan but we still have genuine Afghanis living peacefully and goes about his or her lawful and normal daily businesses in the street of New York  with nothing to fear. Pakistan is listed as a terrorist State, yet almost 50% of confectionery shops in most cities of UK are owned and controlled by Pakistanis. These merchants have nothing to fear, in as much as they are law abiding and keep to the rules and regulations of UK. I therefore do not know why Nigerians see the case of Umar Farouk as a means to the end of their sojourn in wherever they all are all over the world.
Whenever anything happens to Nigerians anywhere in the world they are quick to condemn the host country for taking measures against Nigerians forgetting the laws and interest of the host country. It is only in  a country like Nigeria, that laws are not obeyed. In psychology, human beings have the tendency to either do good or evil, but  laws and punishments control these behavioural tendencies. Why is it that Nigerians driving cars on the streets of America or UK obey traffic laws and when they get back home ignores same? No sane country would open her eyes and watch other nationalities bastardise their country with impunity.

Umar Farouk’s case has shifted the attention of Nigerians in diaspora from bad governace the masses of our people are facing at home. They are now villifying the boy to protect their stay  wherever they are, forgetting the plights of millions of Nigerians through from the terrorism from our rulers.

Most of us have never sat down to look at the definitions of terrorism. Armed invasion of Odi and Zaki Biam has never been classified as a terrorist act by other ethnic nationalities in Nigeria other than the affected areas. Thuggery and brutalization of journalists during the April 2009 re-run election was Ekiti problems to non-Ekiti people both at home and in diaspora. Whatever killings and miaming that characterises the coming February 2010 Anambra’s election would as usual be termed as ‘Anambra headache.’ Those of us in diaspora would sit by our computer to tribalise every events in Nigeria. Some would even go as far as taking everything to God in prayer. We have forgotten that God can not come from heaven to help Nigeria. Had Satan-sent (Because Lenin called Socialism and Communism satan) Chairman Mao folded his arms waiting for salvation from heaven, perhaps China wouldnt have been viable today. Were satan-sent J.J. Rawlings failed to take the giant stride and did what he did, maybe  Ghana wouldn’t have awaken from its slumber to paths of honour and greatness.
Our youth have been so traumatised to the extent of losing focus on their future that have been mortagaged already by our terrorist rulers at home. The trauma and the fear of the unknown follow  Nigerians in diaspora wherever they go  all over the world.

Who is afraid of 3D scanner ? Is it the peasant farmer that is struggling to meet his 0-0-1 daily diet or the Ijaws whose means of livelihood have been polluted by oil spillage or millions of Nigerians that have no access to good things of life ? Is it not you and I and the rulers that are fortunate  to travel out of the shores of Nigeria ? If we dont have skeletons in our luggage why do we have to be afraid of being thoroughly searched anywhere, as long as they are doing so to our rulers too. Perhaps, if they ( the Nigeria rulers) go through these embarrassment, they might have a change of heart that will make life meaningful to Nigerians at home, so that those in diaspora would have the will to go back home to contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria.

I hate to hear people talk about innocent people would suffer for a sin of one man. Each time I read about these in the blogs I consolidate my believe in what Dr.Tai Solarin said about psycophancy of the so-called Nigerian believers. Maybe they have not read their Bible or Quran well, that it is written that innocent people have to suffer and share in whatever punishment meted on  the sinners. Maybe for not rising to the occassion to stop the sin or because of “ I dont care-like”  or “na dem sabi-like” attitudes of Nigerians.
