During the protest, the demonstrators eagerly awaited the arrival of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria, Ojo Madueke who was just around the block, but he declined to show up. Saharareporters learnt that Madueke's trip to et US was a total waste and fruitless journey as the US department of state and the US representative at the UN, Ms. Susan Rice declined to meet with the minister.

Madueke will be returning to Nigeria tonight empty handed according to his travel itinerary.
