The limit of falsehood and deceit

January 27, 2010
Barely a couple of weeks ago, I had cause to express my views on certain happenings that occurred in my immediate environment. No doubt those views to say the least seemed not to have gone down well with the Honourable Minister of State (Health) Dr Aliyu Idi Hong. This could be deduced from the rejoinder of one Dr Abounu Abounu who claimed to be the Minister’s associate based in the U.K From the way and manner the venomous rejoinder was put together and posted on Saharareporters.com website dated 14/01/10, it was so clear to discern that, the burgeoning tribe of praise singers clustering around Dr Hong, is indeed obsessed with the emotion of collective vendetta against the truth. This obsession easily manifested in their collective inability to realize any redeeming feature in the issues I brought forward in my opening exposé titled “Dr Hong and the Burden of a Thieving Dad”  posted on Saharareporters.com and pointblanknews.com on 13/01/2010
According to an adage, a river whose sources are well known can hardly sweep away the discerning even if in its self delusion. It becomes a cascading avalanche. Though there’s the thorny-coat of Dr Hong in that empty and abusive rejoinder to my piece, but let me say that Dr Abounu Abounu, the Minister and his co-travelers should note that, all of them have earned a notoriety for speaking with bifurcated tongues that their position as stated in the rejoinder are scarcely accorded any credibility by even an under-aged child. Their continuous impassioned efforts at dressing critics of Dr Hong, who often bring to the limelight, his perceived criminal and ancestral misadventures, in the borrowed robe of ‘whipping religious sentiments’ is an exercise in futility.

The Minister true to his billing and that of his godfathers, have always used this formula in the past to whip Islamic sentiments on any political issue in the area. But Dr Hong and his co-travelers should come out from the dark age of their reasoning and know that they are not more Muslims than the rest of us in Hong LGA. It should be noted that we in Hong Local Government and Kilba people in particular, religion is NEVER a factor in social issues, but rather common interest.

It is against this background that Dr Hong will do himself a lot of favour and respond objectively to THE PREMIER newspaper cover story on his financial misappropriation and self enrichment from public funds to the tune of N300Millon, dated Nov. 17-23, 2009. Similarly, he should also contend with the query given him by publishers of a national newsmagazine NATIONAL WAVES of Nov. 2009 issue 16, ISSN No. 20061684. This is because both publications initially opened the can of worms with regard to his controversial mansion in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

As for our collective and common interest in the Local Government, we will make do with his explanation to his source of income with which he is currently building a multi million naira Private Hospital in Kano Metropolis. While  it is not out of place to build such an outfit elsewhere, but it is expected that, such a magnificent project would have been more appropriate if it is established on the soil of the people on whose back he rode to political relevance and consequently amassed his wealth.

Finally, since neither Dr Hong nor his associate Dr Abounu Abonu did respond to the issues of theft leveled against his father Alhaji Idi Washman at Hong Divisional Police Station on 19/12/09 among others, it is assumed they had conceded to all issues therein stated in my initial write up. I am glad I have been vindicated by their silence. No wonder, with lies and falsehood as their companion and body guard, the end to their reign of deceit is nigh.
