JUST IN: The Nigerian house of representatives has just passed a resolution transmiting power to Jonathan Goodluck as the "Acting President and the Commander-in-chief of the Nigerian armed forces" . The house resolution was passed a few hours the Senate passed a similar resolution.articleadslinks
The Nigerian senate today resolved, in a near unanimous decision, that Umaru Yar'adua's deputy, Goodluck Jonathan take over as "Acting President and the Commander-in-chief of the Nigerian armed forces" until such a time that Yar'adua returns from medical treatment in Saudi Arabia and transmits a letter indicating that he is medically fit to resume his duties.
