Eyewitnesses at the event told Saharareporters that the physical scuffle got so ugly that two Sudanese officials and one secret service agent tumbled down a flight of stairs during the fracas.

Two Sudanese diplomats were arrested on charges of obstructing government administration (OGA) and resisting arrest but later released due to diplomatic immunity.
