It has become clearly manifest that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)do not intend to conduct free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria as the ongoing fraudulent activities in Delta State has shown.It is now very discernible that the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has not changed in character and style as they are hell bent to subjugate and manipulate the will of the people by ensuring that there are more than enough land mines that will scuttle free, fair and credible elections.
We wish to state here and now that the slogan "ONE MAN, ONE VOTE" is a grand deception by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to hoodwink our People while conniving with desperate politicians to further entrench electoral banditry on the people.
We wish to warn very sternly that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is blazing the fires of unprecedented and unparalleled violence,chaos and anarchy that could consume us all as we know that Deltans,Niger Deltans and the good people within the territorial boundaries known as Nigeria will totally resist, reject and will not accept any form of electoral fraud nor Malpractice that will produce illegal governments.
We are ready to mobilize Deltans and the good people of Niger Delta to protest and challenge within legal confines any form of electoral malfeanse and Faux Pas that the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) is determined on foisting on our People.
We bring before the notice of our fellow Comrade, Mallam Attahiru Jega, that his integrity is at stake and that certain corrupt elements within the Independent National Electoral Commission have vowed to continue the Professor Maurice Iwu election rigging legacy. Mr. Philip Umeadi Jnr. have a lot of questions to answer in this regards.
Before the Independent National Electoral Commission throws Delta state into complete darkness , chaos and brigandage through the revolt of the masses, before another military expeditions takes place to snuff life out of the innocent children,women and aged, before the lives of our youths are cut short and our future diminished. We call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Jonathan Ebele Goodluck and Mallam Attahiru Jega to take a very definite stand on the Delta State rerun elections.
Let a winner emerge by the Prevailing will of the electorate.
We therefore demand as follows that the 6th January 2010 Rerun elections date which is already been contested by some of the major political parties and organizations in Delta state be shifted and a new date that meets the requirements of the electoral act and all other relevant laws as well as imbues confidence of the electorate and all Political Parties be announced. We demand a date in February that is clearly within the 90 days requirement as ordered by the judicial pronouncements of the Court of Appeal.
We demand also, that a fresh and credible voters registration must be used to conduct the rerun elections and that on no account must the Judicially discredited Voters Register be used.On no account must any single eligible voter be disenfranchised by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC)on account of Non registration.
Furthermore, we demand, that the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Delta State Dr. Ogbudu Gabriel Ada be replaced with immediate effect as he is presently conniving with some desperate Politicians to Rig Delta State Re run Elections like he has be Known for. We Join Deltans to reject him.
We call on the Inspector General of Police and Commissioner of Police of Delta state as well as all the relevant security agencies to clearly show and prove to Deltans why they should have confidence that it will not be business as usual of aiding and abetting election violence ,snatching and stuffing of ballot boxes,intimidation of the defenceless voters as well as other myriads election malpractice.
It must be noted that Niger Delta youths are embracing Nonviolence now and any attempt to make them turn to violence due to the complicity of Independent National Electoral Commission will meet with dire consequences. Let us Avoid this unnecessary War.
