Saharareporters has learned from highly reliable sources that Mr. Badamosi Kabir, a member of the House of Representatives and a son-in-law to the late Nigerian ruler, Umaru Yar'adua, is in a coma in a London hospital.

Mr. Kabir reportedly fell down in the bathroom of a London hotel, but was not discovered for a day and a half, according to a source close to him. He slipped into a diabetic coma and is currently listed in serious condition in a London hospital.

Mr. Kabir, who is married to Maryam, Yar'adua's oldest daughter, has since 2007 occupied the seat for Katsina Central in the House of Representatives.

A source told Saharareporters that Mr. Kabir's condition is compounded by his use of hard drugs.

Already, former “First Lady” Turai Yar'adua has moved to London to be with her son-in-law. Turai is staying in a multi-million dollar mansion.

Mr. Kabir’s political career has been dogged by questions about his educational certificates. After the electoral commission declared him winner of the federal legislative seat, his opponents filed petition alleging that there were inconsistencies in his academic qualifications. Although Mr. Kabir claims a master’s degree in Business Administration, his opponents’ petitions accused him of submitting forged and fake primary school certificate and NCE statement of results to INEC.                       Maryam Yar'adua
