The list intercepted on the political agent contained 245 names already registered as voters at the Oke ShokorI polling unit. He got the list from Direct Data Capture Machine
According to Mr. Idris Abu Ogun state Coordinator of NAVC, when officials of Corps asked the agent where he got the names and what he planned to do with them, he could not offer any explanation
As a result Abu said they decided to take the agent to the police station in the area for further interrogation by the police
However on their way to the station he said the agent bolted away from their grip. But he said the list containing the 245 names already on the new voters register being compiled for the 2011 general elections was recovered from the man
The coordinator further said a report of the incidence has been lodged with the Resident Electoral Officer for the state Deacon Martin Ogunfolami
NAVC was set up in 2005 by ICPC to enlist Nigerians with integrity to contribute as private citizens to the fight against corruption in the country.
