MATTER OF URGENT ATTENTION: House of Assembly Representatives.
We are constrained by the exigencies of our time to forward this petition to our respected party leaders on the nature and quality of the person that we collectively endorse to carry our party banner to context the 2011 Delta State House of Assembly Election under new INEC, led by astute and meticulous Prof.  Ataru Jega.

THE NEED FOR EXHAUSTIVE EXAMINATION OF THE PDP HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CANDIDATE FOR OKPE CONSTITUENCY

Presently there are gladiators vying for the Okpe slot in the Delta State House of Assembly, the task before the party and members of the constituency is to recommend or elect the best of the gladiators that can conveniently carry INEC registered voters for our great party. Our party, PDP, is the party to beat and the other political parties are interested in humiliating the party and this is one of the reasons why the PDP candidate must not have any skeleton or whose previous antecedents will not give room for easy disqualification based on the New Electoral Act and this is also against our party code of conduct.

In the light of the above an analytical examination was done on the aspirants but unfortunately one of them was found wanting, not suitable for the lofty position of the House of Assembly whose members are honorable and honest members of the society and their constituencies. We regret to say that Chief Sherrif Oborovwori, who is presently vying for the exalted seat of the House of Assembly in Okpe constituency of Delta State, has many issues that he knowingly covered up before the screening panel of our great party.

Among the issues are:

1.    Failure to disclose that in 1996, he had an acid bath case where he was charged and remanded at the Federal prison at Okere, Warri in Delta State. A copy of the released warrant is attached.

2.    Failure to disclose various police cases at Ekpan police station and State CID headquarters Asaba e.g his personal involvement in the gruesome killing of PTI students during Ibori’s tenure which cases are still pending with inconclusive investigation still going on.

3.    The deliberate refusals to disclose the quality of character of his person as regards his commitment to the people of his constituency; a case in point is the multi-million naira Osubi community Town Hall which he handled both as a contractor and CLO of the community to SHELL Petroleum Development Company. The project was part of SPDC Community Development Project; it was fully paid for but was abandoned for over eight years now while other similar project awarded about the same time has been completed and commissioned. Such communities are in Jeremi in Ughelli South, Effurun in Uvwie LGA and Okere-Urhobo Community in Warri South LGA. Attached is a copy of the abandoned town hall project.

4.    To confirm his fraudulent and violent nature, he was once again caught in the act during the recent Delta State governorship re-run election where he was caught in the act of ballot box snatching with armed youths under his control. This has been featured in SAHARA reporters and VIDEO CLIPS are currently being circulated within Delta State and the internet.

In conclusion we earnestly urge the PDP leadership to act urgently in order for the party to have a more reliable, credible candidate. Presently many people are waiting to use the above short coming of Chief Sherrif Oborovwori to apply for his disqualification as a candidate of the party within a short notice.
The party leadership should be weary of uncalled for litigation as the new electoral law comes into effect.

We the under signed members of PDP are saying that he is not an electable material and not qualified for the position.

Yours Faithfully,
