The victim, Mamadu Balde, was with his sister, Mariatu and older brother, Abraham at a Ghanaian night club, "Cocoa House" on 1240 Edward Grant Highway in the Highbrridge section of the Bronx to attend a party for their cousin.  During the event, a fight was reported to have broken out inside the club leading to a stampede.  The police responded to a call at about 3:00 am.

Narrating the ordeal, Marliatu said her brother was unarmed and they were standing together when cops shot him.

When SaharaReporters contacted the New York police department, police detective “Sessa” told us that a large fight broke out in the area and when police arrived they found a black male aged 21 pointing a "gun" which turned out to be black imitation 9millimeter Bareta.
Mamadu is listed in critical condition (coma) at the Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx.
