Obama & Tony Anenih Birthdays: Odd Wishes From President Jonathan

August 9, 2011

Picture this and be the judge yourself! Very recently, President Jonathan Goodluck congratulated president Obama on his fiftieth birthday. And thereafter, within the same timeframe, Mr Goodluck felicitated with Tony Anenih on his 78th birthday. What’s the correlation here?

Picture this and be the judge yourself! Very recently, President Jonathan Goodluck congratulated president Obama on his fiftieth birthday. And thereafter, within the same timeframe, Mr Goodluck felicitated with Tony Anenih on his 78th birthday. What’s the correlation here?

In one of the congratulatory lines, Jonathan poured positive acclaim upon Tony Anenih as an astutely genuine politicians that every upcoming youngster and future generation of Nigerians should emulate. So, you now know who the president’s role mode and inspirer is. And people like this are the ones Rueben Abati and other water-boys and yes-men in Abuja would be kowtowing to for a longer part of it all. I don’t jealous them at all. I rather remain poor than stab my conscience and flirt around with misbegotten and godforsaken bunch of usurpers.

The fact is that Nigeria’s president is a man who’s still trying to figure out whom he really is after over fifty years on planet earth. Oftentimes, he tries to resemble and copycat different people at different times and places worldwide. One time, OBJ is his father-figure, another time ex-governor Bola Tinubu, then enter pastor Adeboye, Tony Anenih is his latest admirer. And the search goes on. Who knows when the president finally stops the lookout for his true personal identity and grow up? We hope that another Michael Jackson isn’t in the making. The pop singer remained baby-like until his death: he was never grown up.

One thing I know is that Mr Goodluck must exclude Obama from his identity crisis search. Until he has grown up and has chosen which way he should go. Is either Jonathan is with Obama niche people or with Anenih groupies. You can’t have both it both ways. Unless you’ve lone licence from the United Nations that you could eat your cake and have it. And there’s no way the president could eat his cake and have it. For very soon, the chickens would be coming home to roost. Erstwhile president OBJ’s chickens have been roosting in Ota Farm since he left office. He can’t escape his sins of buccaneering Nigeria under asunder eight yearlong. Don’t be deceived by his fake ‘I dey laugh-o’ chitchat. There’s now a thin line between former officeholders in Nigeria and London jail.

And I’m seeing vision that a onetime Nigerian president and his gang would end up in American jail this time after extorting money from erstwhile US veepee Dick Chaney over the Halliburton corruption. Just as the Nigerians involved are booming around town with perfect ease. And shouting along the usual no-shaking and nothing dey happen braggadocio which is their commonplace singsong to show they have swagger as untouchables. Dick Cheney has a very long memory and he seldom forgives and he’s the kind of guy who’s ready to fight another day but very dirty fight too. So those who extorted Mr Cheney in Nigeria via his proxies over his Halliburton sins should be getting ready for a big fight when they leave office.

And however, the last thing president Jonathan should do is imitating to be an Obama wannabe or die trying to be in Obama’s niche group. Nigeria’s president can continue with his ride and die philosophy with criminals in Abuja than copycat or aspire to be amid Obama clique. In light of Jonathan’s foregoing, nothing stops one from felicitating with Devil and God as a middle man at the same time. And make-believe that God and Satan are at the same wavelength and have equal fineness and solidness.

What’s it that connect Obama, Jonathan and Tony Anenih together? That Mr Jonathan could dare congratulate Tony and Obama at the same time with same can-do and modesty virtue as if both of them belong to the same class of happenings.

Mr Goodluck hasn’t only played straight into the hands of guys who’re asking him to make his IQ grading public; he has more so given them credence. To now call people who are eager to read the presidents’ PhD thesis as agent provocateur is misnomer. It seems there’s need to look into it to be sure what makes the president rational or irrational being. Although if you ask me, I’d tell you that Emotional Intelligence is a very serious factor for success. You might want to open a debate asking whether IQ or Emotional Intelligence is a stronger partner for one to be a success story life.

Furthermore, the president has been gathering dust and dirt every where he went and everything he did that a call for the revelation of his braininess is a legitimate business. And at juncture, I’ll advice president Jonathan to work on his Emotional Intelligence before he wrecks himself. How, for modesty sake! Could one be an Obama and Tony Anenih fan at the same time? There’s no correlation. Except that one is a perfect grandstander who has an innate gene for hypocrisy.

I paste here and now a clipping from President Jonathan’s cuchie-cuchie romantic birthday congratulation to Tony Anenih in quote: “Over the years, you have remained a major influence and a guiding light not only within our political family, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but across Nigeria’s political firmament. As you continue to inspire generations of political children, it is my prayer that Almighty God blessed you with enduring robust health even as He guides, guards, and prospers you in the many more years of fulfillment ahead.” You’ve just heard Jonathan very laud and crystal-clear. So what’re going to do now?

Everyone should be asking who it was that wrote both congratulations to the two opposite birthday celebrants. Is it Rueben Abati that penned it? I’d resign my appointment if and when I’m told to write felicitation or positive record for someone with dirty character. Anyone who wrote the duo congratulations could write anything whatsoever.

I hereby contract the writer to write memorial eulogy to Caucasian mother Teresa of Indian and in the same manner and at the same timeline write a birthday congratulation to Farida Waziri of EFCC. The said writer should try as possible to paint late mother Teresa and the living Farida as coequals in terms of decency and selflessness? This is how best not to lump Obama with some somewhat messy politicians in Abuja and thinking that such crooked label could stick together as glue. The president should steer his hypocritical and yet opportunistic grandstanding to another direction. Obama, Jonathan, Anenih, mismatch.

You can only pray so seriously that you don’t wake up one day to hear that your president has written birthday congratulation to Nelson Mandela and in the same stretch wrote a memorial eulogy celebrating Adolf Hitler.

"Tony Anenih and Obama, Mandela and Adolf Hitler, Mother Teresa and EFCC’s Farida Waziri?" What a lot of nonsense! And how bizarre!
