Senator Bukola Saraki Wins In Appeal Court

The Court Of Appeal, Ilorin Division has upheld the election of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki as the Senator Representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, the Appeal Court in a unanimous decision dismissed the appeal brought before it by Hajia Bilikisu Gambari of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) for lack of merit.

The Court Of Appeal, Ilorin Division has upheld the election of Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki as the Senator Representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, the Appeal Court in a unanimous decision dismissed the appeal brought before it by Hajia Bilikisu Gambari of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) for lack of merit.

While delivering judgement in the Appeal, Justice Tijani Abdullahi said that the court found that the appellant failed to prove her case beyond reasonable doubt, and could not provide any credible evidence to substantial her claims and the little provided by her counsel is "watery" and "incredible".

The court said that the National Assembly Election Tribunal is right in their judgement that Senator Bukola Saraki is duly elected, they affirmed and upheld the judgement of the lower Tribunal.

Speaking after the Judgement, Senator Saraki thanked everyone for their support and prayer and promised to continue to bring dividends of democracy to the good people of Kwara Central.
