Explosion In Bauchi Township Attributed To Faulty Electric Power Transformer As Police Confirm Attacks On Tafawa Balewa and Katagun

Eyewitnesses at the JIBWIS conference in Bauchi township now add that the three loud explosions heard overnight ion in the city was as a result of a faulty electric transformer that blew up close to the JIBWIS conference center.

Saharareporters had contacted the Commissioner of police in the state directly as citizen reporters affiliated to SR told they heard the explosions.

The CP responded to our inquiries by saying there was a bomb explosion on a railway line in Bauchi Township, apparently it wasn't a bomb as previously reported.

However, there were two separate attacks in Tafawa Balewa LGA and Lamar Katagun in the state.

Correction: In our earlier report wrote that JIBWIS was founded by late not Sheikh Ja'afar Adams but members of the group said JIBWIS was originally founded by Late Sheik Samaila Idris
