One of the men was gunned down by the security operatives at the governor's office, but the other two escaped, Nigeria Politics Online was told.

The robbers arrived at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in the Secretariat complex at about 9.50 a.m. today in a black Quest Nissan car with registration number Abuja BR 944 RSH.  They immediately tried to snatch a brand-new Toyota Camry car, AKM 146 AA which was bought only on Wednesday.  The security gadget installed in the car raised the alarm.

The robbery incident triggered a massive traffic build-up as around the secretariat as people ran for their safety and all the gates leading into the Governor’s Office were immediately shut down.

The robbers attempted to escape in the Toyota Camry, but police and other security men shot them as they pulled down the main gate of the Secretariat.  One was killed immediately while the other two escaped with bullet wounds.

Frequent robbery attacks have forced most of the banks in Ogun State to close down operations, especially since December 2011.
