However, detective Kewaye survived the attack and  has been taken to an undisclosed hospital where he is in critical condition.

A security source told SaharaReporters that a security patrol team comprising of secret police, regular police and soldiers have been drafted to Rigasa neighborhood of Kaduna in search of suspected sect members involved in the attack.

A senior police officer was recently shot dead in front of his family members by sect members of the "Rigasa cell". The Rigasa area reportedly has more active Boko Haram members than any other area in the North aside from Maiduguri, Borno State.
