His kidnap in causing consternation in Niger Foundation Hospital, especially among the other expatriate doctors who now see the environment as highly unsafe.

The Hospital is one of the Hospitals owned by the Catholic Diocese of Enugu which has now become the sole provider of medical services in the state following the failure of all the state government owned health facilities.

However, both the hospital and the Catholic Church are yet to make an official statement on the kidnap of Dr. Joe.

Enugu State police spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu confirmed the report when contacted on telephone.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police said that the police is inching closer and closer to the kidnappers, assuring that the Spanish doctor would soon breathe an air of freedom.
