Corps members originally posted to Yobe will proceed to Nasarawa State, while those scheduled to have their orientation in Borno will go to Benue State.

And while their colleagues in other States are already undergoing their orientation, the corps members posted to the two troubled States will now have theirs between Thursday, 26 July and Thursday, 16th August, 2012.

NYSC had insisted on Tuesday that it would go ahead with the scheduled posting despite the outcry of Nigerians, especially southerners, whose children are billed to be posted to the volatile North where the activities of the dreaded Boko Haram have become deadly.

The statement by Mr. Okorie-Affa also advised all 2012 Batch ‘B’ prospective corps members deployed to Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Kano and Kaduna States who have collected their call-up letters but are yet to report in camp to report immediately at the NYSC Directorate Headquarters, Abuja for redeployment.
It would be recalled that many corps members were killed last year in the North, especially in Bauchi and Kaduna States, when angry youths from the region were protesting the conduct of the 2011 elections.

Below is the full text of Brigadier-General Okorie-Affa.
