Nigerian Airforce Training Jet Crashlands At Benin Airport

A Nigerian air force training aircraft crash-landed today at the Benin airport. The aircraft with registration number 5N-DKS at 10:00 AM Nigerian time crashed on its belly after the landing gear failed to deploy overshooting the runway at the Benin Airport in Edo State, Nigeria.

Airport officials told Saharareporters there are no casualties or injuries. The airport is currently closed to allow officials remove the crashed plane from the runway.

In October 2011 a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) L-39 training aircraft from 303 Flying Training School at Kano also crashed at the Uyo airport in Akwa Ibom State during a training exercise.
