Lagos State Governor Tells Okun-Idasho Villagers The State Owns Their Land

Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, visited villagers of Okun-Idasho in Ibeju-Lekki today and said the State had acquired their land for its Free Trade project.

This past week villagers have been raided by police. 

During the raid police fired bullets and causing panic among the villagers. 
Some were arrested, and many others sought refuge in the bush. After the raid villagers returned to their village.

In a separate raid, the Government sent in soldiers and an armored tank.  
Governor Fashola said he paid Naira 750 million in compensation to take over the land.

Villagers said they've not received any funding from him and advised the Governor to get a refund.

Governor Fashola did not respond.

Villagers say if they leave the village they have no where else to go.
