The aircraft with 227 passenger and 12 crew members left Kuala Lumpur for Beijing 12: 11 am on Friday and had been expected to arrive China at 6:30 am. However, air traffic controllers said they lost contact with the airliner  around  2 : 40 am some 2 hours into the flight.
