But it was eventually extinguished due to the combined efforts of men of the State House Fire Service, the Federal Fire Service and the FCT Fire Service.

“I received a distress call at exactly 6:02am this morning that there was fire outbreak in one of the shops with a big refrigerator and gas cylinders”, Yahaya-Joe said of the fire. “We used fire extinguishers as an interim measure to curb the outbreak before the arrival of the fire service personnel”.

He praised the fire fighters for their swift response and urged traders in the market to dispose combustible materials such as gas cylinders and other inflammable materials to prevent recurrences.
