On Friday, the people of Ondo State exchanged their temporary voter cards, TVC, for the newly introduced permanent voter cards, PVC, a move pushed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The PVCs, designed with a new "smartcard" shape, would be used for the coming 2015 general election in the country.

SaharaReporters monitored the distribution exercise in Ondo State, where resident turnout was quite low on the first day of the distribution.

The electoral body had declared three days: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, for the distribution exercise.

It was also gathered, from the public, that some names were missing on the new PVC.
