Health Worker Who Treated Thomas Duncan Diagnosed With Ebola In Texas

According to The Independent, the unnamed health worker was part of the team treating Thomas Eric Duncan and is said to have come into direct contact with Thomas Duncan, on at least one occasion.

The health worker was placed in isolation at the hospital after complaining of fever on Friday.

The new infection is the first recorded case of Ebola transmission within the United States’ borders and highlights the highly infectious nature of the virus which has resulted in the deaths of more than 200 health workers in West Africa.

Texas health authorities are still monitoring over 50 people who came into varying degrees of contact with Thomas Duncan, including his family.
