"The hospital project has had an insignificant improvement ever since the new government came on board," some students said. "A lot of the projects have seen very little or no improvement."

Students say the hospital's ICU/dialysis center has been abandoned, the pathology lab is not supplied with equipment, and all other works in various departments are moving at a very slow pace. Additionally, they claim that no department is currently ready for clinical studies.

"Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital is the largest state-owned health facility in the state and it has been shut down for two years now," students say. "This has affected health care delivery in the state grossly as other neighboring hospitals suffer the pressure from the influx of too many patients and limited facilities."
