The President I Want in 2015

November 13, 2014

Nigeria is a country with lots of Natural and human resources, Nigeria with it enormous human and Natural resources has enormous challenges facing the country, such challenges range from lack of provision of quality education, portable water, epileptic electricity supply, bad roads, roads and shelter, illiteracy, patriarchal society, poverty, unemployment, and corruption, lack of respect for rule of law just to mention but few.

As we head to 2015 to elect a new president that would pilot the affairs of Nigeria I would like to have a president that would harness the natural and human resources that Nigeria has and not the other way round.

If one were to take stock of events happening in our political sphere in the last few years. I would say that there is a president I won’t like to pilot the affairs of Nigeria.

I won’t want to have a president in 2015 that the military under his command would issue lies of rescuing 129 girls that were never rescued at first and later retract it statement.

I won’t want to have a president in 2015 that says helicopters, aero plane [sic], 2 fighter jets, 2 special battalions devoted to search of abducted Chibok girls and yet there is no sight of the girls.

I won’t want a to have president in 2015 that controls the whole Nigeria security apparatus and has never in the entire life span of administration deem it right to visit the ravage North East zone of Nigeria by insurgency.

I won’t want a president that accuses the opposition of insurgency and yet has never provided any shred of evidence to back up it claim not to talk about prosecuting them.

I won’t want to have a president in 2015 that goes to Christiane Amanpour show and claim that power has improved in the street of Abuja and Lagos while reverse is the case.

I won’t want a president in 2015 that would loose Nigeria territories to insurgent, I would want a president in 2015 that protect and secure Nigeria territories, lives and properties from our enemies both domestic and foreign.

I would want a president that gives a dam in 20015 not a president that don’t give a dam. I want a president in 2015 that commands courageous soldiers who are highly motivated and better equipped than a president who criticize anybody who says the military are ill equipped, have low morale and poor remuneration, and above all I want a president in 2015 that commands soldiers that don’t flee the battle field but fights insurgency to the end.

I want a president in 2015 that recognized the glaring fact that in an ideal democracy 19 is greater than 16.

I want a proactive president in 2015 not a president who set up committee after committee on almost all issues.

I want a president in 2015 who does not go dancing 24 hours after it citizens were dastardly kill by a bomb blast by insurgent.

I don’t want a president in 2015 who arrest or barred peaceful protesters, or tear gas them, I want a president in 2015 who respects citizens rights as enshrined in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.

I don’t want a president in 2015 that will keep mute when the Nigerian police start interpreting the laws of the land instead of keep law and order, or a president that keeps mute when Nigeria’s judicial institution was attacked.

This is the kind of president I want Nigeria to have come 2015 I don’t know what kind of president you want.
