Two Young Doctors Among Those Killed In Yesterday's Boko Haram Attack In Damaturu, Yobe State

Dr. Hassan Lawan and Dr. Mansur Babale, two promising young doctors, were killed yesterday in their quarters on Gujba Road. They were reported to have been killed at close range. Both Hassan and Mansur were graduates from the University of Maiduguri, and had graduated less than four years ago.

As information continues to surface concerning Boko Haram's failed takeover of Damaturu, Yobe State yesterday, reports today claim that two doctors were among those killed in the attack.

Dr. Hassan Lawan and Dr. Mansur Babale, two promising young doctors, were killed yesterday in their quarters on Gujba Road. They were reported to have been killed at close range. Both Hassan and Mansur were graduates from the University of Maiduguri, and had graduated less than four years ago.

At least 33 policemen and six soldiers were also killed Monday in the Yobe State capital. Their bodies have been brought to the General Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital, Damaturu on Tuesday.

Speaking to SaharaReporters today, a source said "Boko Haram has no boundaries as to who it kills, [and] no respect for persons who provide humanitarian services to the sick."
