Lack Of Nigerian Votes Cost Enyeama BBC Award—Anazodo

December 3, 2014

Anazodo, in a tweet, added that he was amused by huge amount of discussion going on regarding the Lille’s goalkeeper inability to beat eventual winner Algerian Yacine Brahimi to the coveted prize, as many believe the former Enyimba player was supposed to be the rightful winner.

Super Sports presenter Charles Anazodo says Nigerians shouldn’t be dismayed that Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama couldn’t scoop the BBC African Player of the year award, considering most of them didn’t vote for him when the poll was open.

“Funny thing Nigerians think/believe Enyeama should have won the BBC version of the African footballer of the year. I ask, did you vote!!??" The TV personality tweeted.

It is believed that despite huge calls by the organisers, BBC, and numerous footballers of Nigerian origin (who campaigned seriously for Enyeama) many within the country failed to vote which gave Brahimi, who got a lot of votes from North Africa an upper hand in the hunt.
