Professor Yemi Akinseye, a Senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), on Thursday urged the President-elect, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, to re-invent the anti-corruption agencies to ensure speedy and effective results in his anti-corruption program. Akinseye, in an interview with pressmen in Abuja also stressed the need to re-invent revenue generating institutions.

“Re-inventing anti-corruption agencies means carrying out one by one review of every individual working in the agencies and by this, some may need to be sent to other agencies. “We need institutions with integrity that can deliver on the mandate of combating corruption.”

He called on the incoming administration to provide insurance, adequate reward, road map, vision and strategy for the agencies, to enhance efficient service delivery. “By this, they must be competent, capable and well-motivated to prevent corruption and minimize leakages from the treasury.”

“It is expected that a lot of resources is going to be saved and when this improvement is seen in the system, then the gains from that will be extended to other agencies,” he added.
