Sahara Reporters learned from a military source that scores of Boko Haram militants have been killed by Nigerian troops in the forests of northeast Borno during fierce gun battles.

This same source stated that the Nigerian military  ambushed Boko Haram militants as they came out of the Sambisa Reserve Forest yesterday.

The ensuing battles left many of the Boko Haram sect killed near Sambisa forests on Tuesday in Borno State.

''We received information from our men on field that many of Boko haram were killed near Sambisa forests in Damboa axis yesterday, they were many and our soldiers confronted and  scores of them were killed .'' the source disclosed.

They also stated that top officials in the military have prevented them from speaking to journalists until everything has been centralized to the Headquarters.
