Bauchi State Re-branding or Retreat...

Dear Sirs,
Bauchi State Re-branding or Retreat...?
Let there be no sentiment - We are all in this together! A government that we've campaigned for & helped in every ways (sometimes risking our dear lives) to win an election, all too soon finds itself running out of ideas & surrounded by largely unfamiliar faces who made little or no contribution to the campaign process whatsoever now parading under the disguise of reform when it's actually a sign for a rather big government almost similar to the one that we've just voted out of office. The large sizes of the two committees created the first comprised of some 41 members & the recent one just been launched this Thursday (07/05/15) with 46 members are quite frankly & fundamentally too large & an affront to the fundamental issues we've fought the last government, i.e. peoples' yearning for a smaller, efficient & effective government that is less corrupt! Our fundamental questions are: 1) Why must we have 41 & 46 when even the outgoing government only had 21 committee members? 2) Who would pay for them? 3) Why there are some alleged PDP members in the committees? 4) How long is the committee with 46 members meant to last? 5) Why should there be more Sub Committees (16 Sub Committees) said to involve 98) on top of the already 46 members? 6) Vague Terms of Reference 7) In adequate planning & control - hence members left to wonder In our candid opinion, their sizes are rather too large & composition of such membership was selective, too much family based, devoid of merit & costly! It's important to avoid overlapping between the two committees otherwise it will be seen as duplication of duties & hence therefore wasteful of time & scarce resources! This live one to conclude that the government is either short sighted on its own vision, policies & programmes of action. Any serious government ought to be by now better equipped & cognisant of what it intends to do by now & not just live things to a bunch of oversize committee to formulate it's policies & what it should rather do is to articulate key points & hand them over to such committee for enhancement & fine tuned definition instead! Such experiment could only lead to unending brainstorming & lengthy ineffective exercise at the cost of the very people that we set out to help, i.e. the tax payers! I personally took part as a committee member in 2012 Report under Kano Renaissance Think Thank (KRTT), which we submitted the same to the current Kano State Government of H. E. Musa Kwnakwaso in November same year, yet with a 61 - 73 page & with only 31 members! Why must Bauchi State be any different? I seriously wonder! Above all, that same Report was meant to have a general application to the the wider Northern Nigeria in particular & the country in General, but we took Kano State as a model. This is a bad sign for future things to come in just a short time by the new incoming government & trust that it's still not too late to look at the whole issues raised; aims & objectives allied cost under current harsh economic conditions especially for a new government that was elected on the premise that it would do something better than the previous administrations! Our calls are not personal, but following huge repeated appeals including calls received from our supporters & in deed Party loyalists, which we aired those concerns through our weekly radio live program, which prompted the Party PRO to make four radio responses, but no avail! We trust, we won't be forced in to mobilising people in to the streets so soon! I hope & pray that H. E. Barr. M. A. Abubakar is listening to these concerns upon which we campaigned for & that he will live up to his election promises to take charge of affairs & by restoring hope & pride to the electorates who voted for him with the view to reassure them of their early worries even before inauguration! Our fundamental questions are:

1) Why must we have 41 & 46 when even the outgoing government only had 21 committee members?

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('content2'); });

2) Who would pay for them?

3) Why there are some alleged PDP members in the committees?

4) How long is the committee with 46 members meant to last?

5) Why should there be more Sub Committees (16 Sub Committees) said to involve 98) on top of the already 46 members?

6) Vague Terms of Reference

7) In adequate planning & control - hence members left to wonder

In our candid opinion, their sizes are rather too large & composition of such membership was selective, too much family based, devoid of merit & costly!
