A jury in Boston, Massachusetts voted on Friday to execute Dzhokhar Tsarnaev one of the two people who carried out the Boston terrorist attack killing three people and injuring more than 260 others.
The verdict came at 3:30pm Eastern Standard Time in the United States.
This verdict marks the end of a lengthy trial process with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev being the only perpetrator with charges against him. His older brother Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed by police in Boston as they the Tsarnaev brothers fled authorities.
The jury is said to have reached their verdict in less than 15 hours. It is believed that Tsarnaev will be sent to death row at Terra Haute, Indiana where his appeals process could last for years.
