Fayose said, "I had left the battle for God to fight. I told those planning to impeach me that they will succeed if they can impeach God."
The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, announced that he is celebrating a triumph over the 19 All Progressive Congress (APC) lawmakers who have been trying to impeach him.
The Governor and APC lawmakers have been engaged in a continuous strife since he resumed this position.
Fayose’s fear of impeachment was revived after President Buhari and APC triumphed as the ruling Party after the presidential polls this past March.
The term of office of the lawmakers came to an end this Thursday.
Fayose boasted that with impeachment threats behind him, he can focus on Ekiti's development, welfare, and financial stability.
"I had left the battle for God to fight. I told those planning to impeach me that they will succeed if they can impeach God."
"I will now squarely face the business of governance."
Moreover, Fayose commends his supporters for staying with him during this trying period. The people of Ekiti rose in the protection of the votes they had given Fayose.
This support has encouraged Fayose to begin fulfilling his campaign promises.
"I did not bring myself back to power, my coming back after eight years is divine. I defeated the APC totally in all the elections, still they did not want to concede victory easily until when Ekiti people rose to defend that June 21 mandate."
Fayose claims God gave him "the victory."
He will also arrange a procession in which all of his supporters will enaged in a "victory walk" from Ijigbo Junction to the State House of Assembly for the Inauguration.
This "victory" comes after Fayose employed thugs and encouraged PDP supporters to block the roads of Ekiti and House of Assembly so that the lawmakers could not fulfill their duty.
The situation was illegal and continued without any intervention from law enforcement.
