A member of the House of Representatives from Osun State, Yusuf Lasun, has been elected Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Mr. Lasun is one of the house of represenataives members loyal to the newly elected speaker Speaker, Yakubu Dogora.
Lasun won with 203 votes to defeat his main rival, Mohammed Mogunu from Borno who garnered 153 votes.
A total number of 356 out of the 360 Reps voted in the election.
