In a statement NBC's Director General (DG) Emeka Mba said that his organization effectively put an end to the radio station's illegal broadcast which has disrupted the peace of South-East Nigeria with obscene messages.

"The commision has also worked with other agencies to remove the transmissions of the illegal station room satellite, and this has put paid to the divisive and disruptive transmissions."

In a press release, DG Mba also acknowledged concerns that "the seditious activities of the illegal "Biafra Radio" transmitting hate messages that are unfortunately designed to create disunity among Nigerians and mislead young people in a deliberate act of subversion."

Some back the work of Radio Biafra because it caters to the people from the region, however others say that the station cultivate facilities and threatening propaganda from a former Republic.

Those part of the Radio Biafra cohort have denounced claims that the government has blocked their transmissions. They sent out a message over Twitter that “Radio Biafra is live in Biafra land.”
