A statement by the club's spokesman, Jimoh Bashir, disclosed that the decision was taken after a meeting between the new Chairman and the club’s general manager, Aloy Chukwuemeka, in Lagos over the weekend.

Senator Bukola Saraki remains the proprietor of the club, while his son, Seni Saraki, assumes duty as the Chairman. Mr. Chukwuemeka retains his post as general manager.

Mr. Bashir’s statement disclosed that the football team is a privately owned football franchise in the NNL, and is owned by Senator Saraki, who represents Kwara Central senatorial district. The spokesman stated that the club was founded to empower youths, affording them the opportunity to exhibit their talent.

According to the statement, Mr. Seni Saraki, a lawyer by training but a budding rap artist by vocation, promised to provide the players with new incentives and coaching expertise to transform the club into a more professional team in line with the founding vision. The new Chairman goes by the stage name Shane Chubbz.

The new team Chairman further assured both players and officials of better deals, adding that he would make their welfare a priority to enable them to deliver their best to the club.

He urged both players and team officials to be focused, disciplined and to work towards earning a promotion at the end of the current football season. Mr. Seni Saraki is expected to address players, officials, coaches and supporters in Ilorin when he formally assumes duty soon.

The club noted that the appointment of the new Chairman was meant to give the club renewed impetus and attention as it plans to return to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
