Indigenes of Ugbomro, host community to Federal University of Petroleum Resources, FUPRE in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State have demanded that one of their own be appointed Community Laison Officer, CLO of the institution.

President General of Ugbomro, Sir Raymond Olughor bemoaned that despite FUPRE requesting that the community forward the name of an indigene to be appointed CLO, which the community promptly responded, they were shocked to discover that someone else outside the community, one Rev. Fr. Ambrose Abaka Oghenejode got the appointment following alleged pressure from the Ovie of Uvwie.

Sir Olughor frowned at the situation where the university authority gets clearance from the Uvwie Monarch before approving anything for Ugbomro.

Sahara reporters can also report that Ugbomro Community has also petitioned The Catholic Bishop of Warri Diocese, Most Rev. (Dr.) John Afareha, demanding the resignation/removal of Rev. Abaka Oghenejode as CLO of FUPRE.

First Vice President of Ugbomro, Mr. April Peter Uwhuba who made the disclosure, urged the Catholic Bishop to advise Rev. Fr. Oghenejode not to allow himself to be used as tool to deny them of their right.

The community has also enjoined FUPRE management to reinstate two of her indigenous staff whose appointments were purportedly terminated sometime in 2014, saying due process was not followed especially after available records show that their employment went through the proper procedure.
