#BringBackOurGirls Rally Marks 500 Days Since Chibok Girls Were Abducted

Today marks exactly 500 days since more than 200 Chibok School Girls were abducted by the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram during a nighttime raid on their school in Chibok, Borno State. A march to mark the day was led by the Arch Bishop of the Abuja Catholic Diocese and Cardinal John Onaiyekan who both joined members of #BringBackOurGirls network at the Unity Fountain to remember the innocent girls.

#BringBackOurGirls campaigners mark 500 Days since the abduction of the Chibok School Girls by Boko Haram. The rally held today in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria, was lead by Cardinal Onaiyekan.

Today marks exactly 500 days since more than 200 Chibok School Girls were abducted by the dreaded terrorist group Boko Haram during a nighttime raid on their school in Chibok, Borno State. A march to mark the day was led by the Arch Bishop of the Abuja Catholic Diocese and Cardinal John Onaiyekan who both joined members of #BringBackOurGirls network at the Unity Fountain to remember the innocent girls.

The event which was marked by tying of the red ribbon around the trees along the road, was attended by some of the parents and relatives of the victims. The campaigners marched toward Transcorp Hilton Hotel Junction.

The Coordinator of #BringBackOurGirls, Oby Ezekwezili, charged the Federal Government to do everything possible to rescue the girls alive, saying the struggle for the rescue of the Chibok girls was the struggle for the soul of Nigeria. She promised that the group would not give up in their demands for the rescue of the Chibok Girls.

She called on the parents and well-meaning Nigerians not to lose hope.
