A statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary, Fortune Panebi, noted that the claims were a wicked display of politics by the PDP and an attempt by the present administration to distract from poor health facilities in the State, despite the billions of Naira spent to refurbish these medical facilities by Governor Seriake Dickson’s administration.

According to the APC,  “it is quite sad that a man like [former Governor] Alaimeiseigha could be treated with disregard by those he uplifted from obscure corners.”  The APC further stated that the Dickson administration had refused to aid the ailing Alaimeiseigha, unless he publicly endorsed Mr. Dickson’s re-election bid.

The APC, while commiserating with the family of the bereaved, noted that if Mr. Dickson was “the People's Governor” as he claimed, he would have responded before the former Governor’s health condition worsened.

The Party advised Bayelsans to ignore Mr. Dickson’s new strategy of saying Mr. Alaimeiseigha’s demise is a personal loss to him.  The Party further stated that Diete Koki hospital was a world class hospital when Timipre Sylva was Governor of the State a few years ago, but under the Dickson administration it has turned into a refuse dump site.
