Lawyer Orlando Waribere Absconds With N40 Million Of Client’s Money

After more than three years it appeared that the N40 million would finally be released to the family. However, instead of fulfilling his legal obligations to the family his law firm represented, Mr. Waribere fled Lagos with cash in hand.

SaharaReporters has learned that the Managing Solicitor of the Lagos-based legal firm St. Matthew-Daniel, Balogun and Associates, Mr. Orlando Waribere, has fled Lagos with N40 million of his client’s money. It is reported that Mr. Waribere absconded with this money on October 19th, 2015 and may be in Port Harcourt area.

The law firm Mr. Waribere worked helped manage the sale of the property and was in possession four cheques, each N10 million, without releasing the funds to the owners since the sale of the property in 2012.

After more than three years it appeared that the N40 million would finally be released to the family.  However, instead of fulfilling his legal obligations to the family his law firm represented, Mr. Waribere fled Lagos with cash in hand.

The family told SaharaReporters that, “Mr. Orlando Waribere disappeared following his knowledge that the property is ready to be transferred to the buyers and that he has to handover the proceeds to the lawful owners of the property. He has not been seen in Lagos for the past two months.”
