It will be recalled that in an earlier story, SaharaReporters reported on army’s call for greater cooperation between the military and civilians in the fight against Boko Haram.

Lieutenant General Buratai displayed photographs, and a banner, of the 100 suspected Boko Haram members in Maiduguri as part of the launch of the Anti-Boko Haram Terrorist Campaign. He explained that, “each of the suspects must have participated in the ongoing insurgency in the operations of Operation Lafiya Dole.”

While describing the suspects, Lieutenant General Buratai noted that most were teenagers and only three were above the age of 70.

The COAS directed any citizen with knowledge of the whereabouts of the alleged Boko Haram members to contact one of three military telephone numbers.  Lieutenant General Buratai also noted that any information leading to the arrest of these suspects would be rewarded.  He stressed that any member of the public who provided information could do so confidentially.

The telephone numbers provided by the military were 0818155888, 08160030300, and 07053333123.
