Operation Lafiya Dole has been leading Nigerian military operations combatting Boko Haram in northeast Nigeria.

According to Mr. Gusau, “the media centre is based on the directive of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai. The aim of establishing the media centre was to provide real time and accurate information and to provide an avenue for a better interaction with the media particularly on Military operations in the North East.”

The media center announcement comes six months after President Buhari stated that military headquarters would be relocated to Borno State to facilitate the war against Boko Haram.

The Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Yusha’u Abubakar, requested that the media use the center to learn of military and operational developments in the fight against Boko Haram.
