Police Officer Found Dead At Lagos Police Barracks

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that one of its officers was today found dead at the entrance of its barracks in Ikeja, Lagos.


In a statement, DSP Joe Offor, the Police Public Relations Officer, identified the deceased as CPL Agi Elias, and described the incident as "sudden and unnatural". 

He said the officer, who was found dead in a Volkswagen Passat with Registration number 489 AY, was attached to with Highway Patrol in Lagos and was on a Corporal-to-Sergeant course at the Police Training School in Ikeja. 

According to the statement, the officer's body was found with some tablets and poisonous substances.

The corpse was taken to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital morgue, while investigation into his death continues.
