The Independent National Election Commission (INEC) in Kogi State announced that polling has been cancelled in Itaja Ward of Dekina Local Government Administration (LGA) following instances of ballot snatching.

SaharaReporters reported earlier that thugs vandalized polling units in Dekina and intimidated voters. It has since been learned that security in the area brought the situation under control.
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Halilu Lai confirmed the incident to media sources. He stated that all voting activities in the ward are cancelled for the remainder of the day.
